Ares Indoor was developed in cooperation with Krill Aircraft, a company specializing in the production of this aircraft in a composite (fiberglass) version. Following mutual agreement and in collaboration with Jack Jehle, we began the development and production of an indoor EPP version of this unique aircraft. The result is a model that faithfully transfers the character of the full-size Ares into indoor flying.
Ares Indoor is made from 4 mm thick EPP, which ensures extremely low weight while maintaining high durability. Thanks to this, the model handles even rougher treatment very well, which is common in indoor flying. The use of EPP also represents a major advantage over traditional Depron, not only in terms of durability but also repairability – minor damage can be easily and quickly repaired, often directly at the flying site, without the need to replace parts.
The main focus during development was placed on flight characteristics, especially versatility and control precision. The model is designed to respond evenly and symmetrically on all axes, to be very predictable, calm, and precise, while still retaining the flight feel of the large composite Ares. We are very pleased that during development we managed to bring the model to the level you can see in the flight videos.
The model is highly maneuverable, yet remains calm and rigid in flight. The structure easily withstands less gentle landings. The motor is positioned in the center of the model, which significantly reduces the risk of propeller damage during minor impacts.
Two aileron servos allow not only precise control, but also flap setup, which greatly facilitates slow, stable flight and so-called “knife-edge” style passes. This configuration is not only visually attractive, but also very pleasant to fly.
The entire model is designed with maximum emphasis on minimal weight. The structure is reinforced with carbon elements – carbon rods with diameters of 0.8 and 1 mm, supplemented by carbon strips measuring 3×0.2 mm and 3×0.5 mm, ensuring an ideal balance between strength and weight.
Ares Indoor is the result of careful development and cooperation, aimed at creating a precise, durable, and exceptionally well-flying indoor fighter, suitable for both recreational and advanced pilots.
